The Mississippi Hound Dogs indoor pro football franchise will hold mini-camps today and Sunday as the expansion team begins the process of setting its first roster.
A group of signed players will work out at Robins Noble Field in Tupelo starting at 11 a.m. today and also on Sunday. The workouts, directed by head coach Martino Theus, are open for viewing by the public.
Some Hound Dogs players who are under contract will not be part of this weekend’s camp, according to general manager Marty Cooper.
“We’ve got almost a dozen players already locked in and we have other roster decisions to make between now and the official start of workouts on Feb. 15,” Cooper said.
The Hound Dogs open their first season on March 3 at home in the BancorpSouth Arena against the Rome (Ga.) Rampage.
