So, we've noticed cameras on Lamar's digital billboard at Crosstown in Tupelo. They are on metal arms under the billboard and are on both sides.
Traffic cameras? Big brother? We had to check.
We talked with Michael McFall of Lamar Advertising in Corinth today. He said the cameras are pointing at the sign and are used to check images on the billboard. They don't face traffic, he said. They are not part of MDOT's traffic camera program (click here to see state's cameras).
So, motorists, carry on. But please don't run the red lights - even if there are no cameras.
Dennis' tweet from earlier today:
@dennisseid: The work on the lot at South Gloster and Varsity Drive in Tupelo, across from McAlister's is for a pharmacy. Not another Mex. restaurant.

Dennis said the company has turned in plans for to the city. I hear it is for a Super Save-on Drugs. It's facebook page:

Another biz from Dennis this morning via Twitter:
@dennisseid: And at Endville Road and McCullough Blvd., dirt work is for a future Soaps N Suds laundromat, similar to the one in Saltillo.
